Back from the 50-Mile Walk....

Well, I am back home from the 50-Mile Walk and I'm extremely tired but I thought I would share a few things with you all.
  • I did NOT get any blisters! Whoo Hoo!
  • I did get an ankle strain however, foot in a brace, but other than pain it's O.K.
  • I walked 52 miles.
  • I met some new walkers this year.
  • We saw alligators right near where we walked.
  • I saw some terrible looking feet over the weekend. (blisters, blisters, blisters)
  • I got great opportunities to share Jesus!!! Even a bigger Whoo Hoo!!!!!

I will write again later with some insightful information from my weekend. (it won't be tomorrow though) because I'm going to be traveling to move my sweet, precious daughter home from college. (well for a month anyway) then she leaves for Serbia.

Thanks to all of you who prayed for me while I was walking this weekend.

Out for a few days....

Hello everyone, I will not be able to post anything new for several days. I'll be back on Sunday night with news from my weekend. I will be leaving on Thursday morning heading to the 50-Mile MS Challenge Walk that I will participate in beginning Friday.

Please pray for me that God would keep my feet and knees healthy but the biggest request please pray for God to open doors of opportunities for me to share Christ with others. Pray that I will recognize the doors and that I will be bold and share without fear.

I love you all and as tired as I'm sure I will be when I get back on Sunday night, I will write and let all of you hear about how things go.

Have a blessed remaining week!

Has God got you?

God's grip don't slip.....

Has He got a hold of you, do you belong to him?
If you don't and you want to grab on to eternity then here are some scriptures for you to read and think about:
Romans 3:23
Romans 6:23
John 3:3
John 14:6
Romans 10:9-10
Revelations 3:20

After you read these scriptures ask yourself these questions:
  • Am I a sinner?
  • Do I want forgiveness for my sins?
  • Do I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sin and rose again?
  • Am I willing to surrender my life to Christ?
  • Am I ready to invite Jesus into my heart and life?

If you are ready to make a decision to receive Christ as your Lord and Savior then all you need to do now is pray something like this:

Heavenly Father I have sinned against you. I want you to forgive me for all my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose again. Father I give you my life to do with as you wish. I want you Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life and save me. In your name I pray. Amen!

If you prayed this prayer and truly meant it with your whole heart, then welcome to the family of God! Now you need to get into a local church and get baptized Matt 3:11 and begin serving God and following Him daily, read His Word and start seeking where He needs you.

Anyone who reads this blog and makes a decision for Christ I would love to hear from you and know that I will be praying for you as well. If I can be of any service to you for prayer requests or spiritual guidance or just to listen....I'm here just comment or e-mail.....and I'll help as God leads.

Walking....

On Friday this week I will be participating in a 50-Mile Walk in Palm Key SC to raise money for MS (Multiple Schlerosis). I walk in honor of my sister-in-law and a lady in my Sunday School class. This 50-Mile walk will be 100,000 steps we will take.

As I've been thinking about this walk for weeks now I began thinking today about how far my God walked in His 33 years on this earth. I started doing some research on-line to see if I could find some basic information about His journeys. Here is a link I found if you'd like to read it. http://keyboardsforchrist.com/Sandals.html

It says in this link that Jesus walked a grand total of 21,525 Miles which is approx. 7 million steps. This means that my Jesus walked almost the distance around the world! WOW!

I'm walking 50 miles to help raise money to help people with MS, but my Jesus walked 21,525 miles to teach and reach souls that might one day receive Him as Lord and Savior. Whew, can you imagine what His feet must've looked like after that many miles/steps. Most people's feet after this weekend I'm going on will look bad with blisters and such, wonder what His looked like?

The best part of His walk, was when He walked to Golgotha's Hill, to be hung on the cross for you and me.

Thank you God for your feet, for your walking, for your love, for your sacrifice to save my soul!

Do you believe without seeing....

Have you ever wished you could actually see Jesus, touch Him, and Hear his words?
Are there times you want to sit down with Him and get His advice?
Thomas wanted Jesus' physical presence, but God's plan is wiser. God is with us all in the form of the Holy Spirit.
You can talk to him, and you can find His words in the pages of the Bible. He can be real to you. You can believe in Him without actually seeing him...

Jesus wasn't hard on Thomas for his doubts, despite his skepticism. Thomas was still loyal to the believers and to Jesus himself. Some people need to doubt before they believe. If doubt leads to questions and questions lead to answers and if the answers are accepted, then doubt has done good work. It is when doubt becomes stubbornness and stubbornness becomes a lifestyle that doubt harms faith.

When you doubt, don't stop there. Let your doubt deepen your faith as you continue to search for the answer.
Doubt encourages rethinking. When you doubt take encouragement from Thomas, he didn't stay in his doubt but allowed Jesus to bring him to belief.

Jesus blesses those who believe without seeing!

Read about the story of Thomas and ask yourself some questions, are you doubting what God can do in you, do you doubt God exists, do you doubt that God can change you...God can help you believe in all things even though you can't see Him or His work with your physical eyes....Allow God to open your eyes so you can believe what you see....

Random thoughts from my day.....

Today I was donating platelets at the blood center. I gave a double unit today which means there are two people who will receive those units of platelets to help them in trying to survive cancer to either save their life or prolong their life. Two people...... Think about the millions of people that our precious Lord and Savior shed his blood for and His blood was shed to save your life. He gave His blood just for you and me....Has He saved you yet, if not what are you waiting for....Receive Him today while you still have time! John 3:16

I've been praying for the service at "The Rock" tomorrow, that as God shows up, the people, would be moved, be changed, be open to receive Him as Lord of their life......

I've been praying for Matt's family.......

I've been praying for Matt, for God's direction to be shown clearly to him.....

I've been praying for Kelly and her summer missions trip to Serbia.....

I've been praying for seeds planted and watered this week.....

I've been studying and praying for God to use me in teaching S.S. in the morning.....

I've been praying for Marty.......God move in Him, use me to help water Lord.......

God is showing me many new things in my life in the past two months and God is changing me...
thank you Lord for answering prayers I've had written in my Bible since 1979....

Planting.....

Well today after work Marty, Kevin and I helped a friend of mine plant some tomato plants then we all went out to dinner afterwards. You know in thinking about planting, my mom has been planting seeds all week. For the first time that I know of, she boldly, stepped out in faith and asked people about whether they know the Lord. She was excited to see and hear some of the responses she received from the different people, and not one of them turned her off but they were all willing to listen to what she had to say and even some of them were thrilled to know that someone cared enough to ask.

Some of us in this world are to be the seed planters and some of us are to be the waterers, which one are you?

God's work involves many different individuals with a variety of gifts and abilities. God is the one who makes Christians grow. Will you allow God to use you to be a planter or a waterer?

I'm just sayin.........

God is continuing to show me His power in so many ways.
There was a HUGE seed planted this past weekend and every day God has watered it a little bit and showing me how that seed is growing. Every one keep praying that God will show me and others how to water this particular seed so that the seed doesn't wither away.

***Even when we have nothing else to give let's give encouragement and cheer each other on because we never know what seed we are watering!!!!

The Bumps are what you climb on....

Our daily lives have many rocks and bumps in them, they have difficulties, you feel like quitting and giving up, you can't understand why the road doesn't get easier, why God doesn't move the rocks. The bumps in our road are what we climb on. God doesn't promise to take away the rocks and bumps that are in our path but He will promise to only make them stepping-stones and not stumbling blocks.

Many of us complain about the rocks in our life. We try to kick them around, pick them up and throw them away and we find out that these rocks we are having to walk over are just to heavy for us.

We get used to the straight paved roads and level sidewalks, we don't expect God to put bumps in our path, but He does.

It takes faith to climb over these bumps and keep moving on, we need to look away from ourself and look by faith to Jesus Christ who will help us climb every bump in the road that comes our way.

Quit looking at ourselves, our problems, our troubles, or any bumps in our road, but let's look to Jesus.

In Psalm 91 there are 11 different kinds of dangers named but God said he can protect us from all of them. Why not read this chapter today and see how God can help you climb every bump that comes into your life.

Needs and wants......................

Contentment is not getting what we want but being satisfied with what we have.

It is helpful to distinguish between needs and wants. We may have all we need to live but let ourselves become anxious and discontent over what we merely want. Like Paul, we can choose to be content without having all we want. The only alternative is to be a slave to our desires.

How can we learn to be satisfied with what we have?
  • Strive to live with less rather than desiring more
  • Give away out of your abundance rather than accumulating more
  • Relish what you have rather than resent what you are missing

Do all these and see God's love expressed in what He has provided!

Do you have great needs or are you discontented because you don't have what you want?

Learn to rely on God's promises and Christ's power to help you be content.

If you always want more, ask God to remove that desire and teach you contentment.

He will supply all your needs and only in a way that He knows best for you! Proverbs 30:8

Stuff.....from the beach to back to work......

How can you go back to work after a weekend like I had, but you know I had to do it, people are depending on me, but it sure was hard.....I kept thinking all day about the special moments I had and I kept wanting to go back.

I got a great opportunity to share my weekend with a co-worker today and got to share many things that God spoke to me about and I think it encouraged her too!

As I have been waiting on the Lord to answer some things in my family's life I read a scripture that gives me all the confidence and faith I need that He will answer my prayers.
Psalm 27:14 "Wait on the Lord;be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!

Yes Lord, I'm waiting, I'm watching, I'm fervently anxious to see your plans for "all" of us.

Sometimes its hard for us to wait, because we want to give God a little push, a little nudge to go ahead and answer our requests but we must wait on His timing, because His timing is the best!
He knows ALL that we need ,when we need and He will answer when He's ready for our life to be changed/affected.

Let's leave our prayers with Him, release them to Him, and let's watch His power and glory as He reveals His answers! just like He did for us this past weekend.

WOW! what a weekend.......

We spent the weekend with Kelly and Matt at the beach and met his family.
What a great family they are....and little Wyatt (oh so sweet!)
We all just hit it off great I think.....we had lots in common with his family.....
One of the things we had on our mind was to just spend time together, relax, rest but actually we stayed quite busy.......we did stuff all day, every day.......but it was fun, not work.....

I'm sure that Matt and Kelly will share lots of things on their blogs about our weekend and probably even share some pictures so I decided to share what God showed to me.....

I got up early Saturday morning and went walking out on the beach, and as I was walking and praying I got to noticing the hundreds of footprints that had been made by others before me that morning and I started thinking of the many people who had made them. I wondered how many of the people that made those footprints know of you God, how many know where they are going and I don't mean just up and down the beach, Lord I mean do they know if they are going to be with you one day and God started speaking to me and telling me that it is my job to tell those people about "Him". I know that I can't tell every one of those people that made those footprints because I won't get to meet all of them, but I can tell the ones I do meet. I can be bold and speak up for Him and give others the opportunity to KNOW the best person in the world they will ever meet and that's YOU LORD!

God showed me not to just leave a print that gets washed away by the oceans tide but to use my feet and go out and share Jesus without any fear. How can the people that made those footprints get to know Him, unless I use my footprints to go and tell them?

And then today, our last day at the beach, what a way to end our weekend. My husband went to church with us for the first time in quite a while. We went to "The Rock" in Conway and OH! what a service it was. God showed up, God shared, God spoke and I can't wait to see where God will take us.

Thanks God for bringing us all together for the special times you gave us and I look forward to many to come.......
