Michael McDaniel's family....

To everyone who has been praying for Michael and his family. I want to say thanks for your persistent heart. He continues to need your prayers please.

Right now though I want to request prayer for his family. I had lunch with many of them today. And even though they seemed uplifted and energized you can also see exhaustion, tiredness in their eyes. They are patiently waiting as God does miraculous work in Michael's life and body. They really need to begin to see improvement and an outlook for his coming home soon. Lord I pray right now that you give each one of them the strength they need to get through to each tomorrow and that each day would bring encouraging news of Michael's improvement. Help them to help each other Lord. Show us ways we can help them Lord.

God I give you praise and honor as you work in each moment of this family's life.
Give them just what they need at just the right moment Lord. Give them rest as they travel back and forth to Charleston, give them peace that Michael will be healed and come home.
Keep joy flowing in their heart as they watch you do Your work Lord and allow them to use every example as a witness for you Lord to reach others.

And God I lift a special request up for Wyatt Lord. God help him in those moments when he questions where his dad is. Give his mom and grandparents the words they need to explain to him.

God do what you do every day in our lives, take care of the Brown/McDaniel family, lead and guide them, keep them united, rested Lord. Continue to show them your awesome love Lord!

Recent Update on Michael.....

Here is the most recent update on Michael. If everyone that reads this blog would contact their friends either by e-mail or post a link onto your blog for other people to see and then tell them to post a link on their blog we can get MANY people across the world praying for Michael and his family:

His insides were put back in place for now.The doctors are saying that they will no longer try to wake Michael; he will stay down in the sedated state until his insides are healed. They do not want him moving. They will be removing the ventilator tubes and feeding tubes from his mouth tomorrow and replace it via a tracheotomy. This will be far more comfortable for Michael with the tracheotomy than in his mouth. This also will cut down on the bacteria in his mouth that runs down these tubes. So, infections will be lessoned.I was sad to hear that the healing process of his insides will take months. Michael will remain in the ICU for a very long time. We have no set date at this time when they will wake him and allow us to welcome him back to the world.

This family needs us praying and doing everything we can to let God hear our pleas for healing. Won't you take time to pray but also contacting, notifying, posting on your blog, whatever you can to get people praying......

I love ya'll so much and I want to see Michael healed, and I want to see this family united in Christ, and most of all I want God to get all the glory, honor and praise for what He has done and will do through all of this.

And let's not forget the other guy that hit them in this incident, let's be praying for him as last I heard he was still on the critical list too.

In His Love,
Beverly

Prayed for 29 years for something and found out the answer last week.....

I have debated as to whether I wanted to share this on-line to everyone and then I realized there may be someone else out there who may need to be encouraged by this news.

I have been praying for 29 years for my husband to get saved, well guess what everyone? I found out last Tuesday night that he asked the Lord to come into his life when he was 17 years old.

Last Tuesday night we went out to eat dinner at Fatz Cafe (he likes to go there on Tuesdays because now that he is 50 he likes to get the senior citizen discount, ha-ha). So when we left on our way home, all of a sudden I got very bold and so I bluntly asked him if he died tonite would he go to heaven or hell and I told him I needed to know right now.

He told me that he had told me before, and I told him no that you've beat around the bush with my question before but you've never answered me directly.

So he told me "I'm going to heaven" and I said to him "Oh yeah" and kinda of in a smirkish tone. I said to him, how do you know you are going to heaven? he said because I've been saved.

Whew, I said to him What? When did you get saved, tell me about it.
So he proceeded to tell me exactly: he said, when I was 17 years old some friends of mine invited me to Emmanuel Baptist Church in RHSC to watch a film entitled "Burning in Hell" and that night I gave my heart to Christ.

I was astonished. All these years I've been praying for him to get saved, when I could've been praying for him to unite with us in service to God, to become the family God wants us to be. I could've directed my prayers differently. Well I know now, and boy am I going to pray different now. I so desire my husband to serve Jesus with me and that we would become united in our marriage like never before.

I could not wait to get home and tell our two children this news. Our children have been praying for years for their Daddy. Kevin has been asking prayer for him every Sunday for the last three years and he was so excited to go to church this past Sunday and tell his Sunday School class. Yee Ha!

What a little bit of boldness will do for you. Even though I've asked him many times before, I was persistant this time and the more I'm in His Word the more God is teaching me not to hold back.

So yep I prayed for 29 years for something that had already occured, and if I have to pray another 29 years for him to come and serve and worship with us then you know what
I WILL !!!!! I love him and I'm not giving up and him or US !

Show up and Show Off God..........

WOW, let me share some awesome points from our sermons yesterday as food for thought for your day!

  • God has chosen us to tell others that Jesus saves.
  • Did you know you can't say "Not so Lord".
  • We aren't going to heaven because we scored but because he scored, he saved us!
  • We can go through all the rituals of our worship and still not be right with God.
  • When we come to God's house, do we come prepared to HEAR?
  • You don't go to heaven because of your suffering but because He suffered for you!
  • Why don't we get hungry for God like we do for food?
  • We think we are doing God a favor by showing up at church.
  • We give God our leftovers.
  • God chooses to love people that don't deserve His love.
  • Have you ever met a Christian and wondered why He chose them! Hey it's because he loves them unconditionally and because He chooses us all! Have we chosen Him?
  • If God would consult us, we would tell God to do things differently than He does now.

If the sermon points alone are this good and get you pumped, you should have been there to hear the entire sermon. For any of you that read my blog and are ever in Rock Hill then stop on by and hear and watch God's mighty power at work at Calvary Baptist.

God is moving powerfully in our church and we are getting ready to embark on a 24-7 Watchman Prayer Ministry and it will be amazing to see how God will "Rock" once that begins.

Whew! I'm getting pumped up just writing about all this. Show up and Show off God! Yeah!

Updates on Michael...

They took Michael off sedation and he has been trying to open his eyes but isn't responding so they are going to do some testing for any possible brain damage, but it also could be caused by the hydromorphine they've had him on. More results will come later to see if they can get him to respond. I will let all of you know of further updates.

All these challenges have got to be weighing heavy on Michael and his family. Please pray for God to do a 360-turn on all this and bring Michael back to his family and back to Him! I know God will answer our requests when He is ready, but oh how hard it is to wait, so we can imagine how hard this wait is for his precious wife and son.

God please move in his body now.

Love all you who are praying and keep it up! Thanks

More news from today on Michael.....

OK so he has pneumonia again and his fever is up again and another infection. He had turned orange looking yesterday and they think his liver may be shutting down, but don't know anything for sure until we get information from test results.

It seems like each new day brings on a new challenge for Michael.
Please pray!

No further news yet on Michael...

No further news since yesterday yet on Michael's condition. We are still waiting to get news from doctors. As soon as I hear something I will indeed let everyone know so you can pray.

Again I am so awed by the reponse of people willing to spend time in prayer for this family.
I am awed by God's power and what He is doing in all of us, uniting us together in many ways.
I pray that we all take this unity into our lives daily and make a difference daily and let others see and experience who lives inside of us. Let's share Jesus with everyone, every moment, not just in times like this incident.

I wanted to share two quotes from some of our Bible studies we've had since I've been up here in the mountains. These quotes have spoke to me in a tremendous ways and have helped me to see myself in some ways that God has been working in me to change/improve.

"Christians are like coals of fire: together they glow, but apart they grow cold"

"Encouragement creates energy all by itself"

WOW! Let's ask ourself is our coal glowing or is our ember burning out. Are we being the "Barnabus" for others, or is our pilot light out creating no energy? Come on people let's let others see who lives in us. Let's get people to see there is more than just living in this world, there is LIVING in this world in and through Jesus Christ. Let's show others who He is!
Let's not hold back spreading and sharing. Let's get that encouragement rolling and let's get those embers glowing and let's watch God do His thing through us.

More updates on Michael...

Michael got out of surgery today. His small intestine has been repaired but his large intestine has to be put in a bag for about three months. His stomach is still open and it will probably be a couple of days before it can be put back together. His fever has gone back up and they have had to put him back in the ice blankets again.

They have to wait for the doctors to provide any further information.

New Updates on Michael this morning..

Michael's white blood count is up which means infection.
His liver is having some kind of problem.
So they may be doing some more surgery today.

God I pray for you to intervene today in Michaels' body and fix what needs to be fixed and help his body heal and improve. God show him your power and that you are in control of what is going on. Wrap your loving arms around this family and bring them peace, bring them relief, bring them rest. God I pray these requests in the power of your holy name.
Amen.

More prayer request for Michael please...

Ok here's the latest update - they stapled his intestines and took out his appendix and checking some other areas. So hopefully the internal bleeding has now stopped. He is suppose to have some other surgery on Thursday.

I love all you guys for keeping the prayers going. I will not have access to the internet for the next four days so please be patient until I return from out of town and I will send updates as I can.

For any of you who follow me on twitter or facebook I will try to update my status everyday as to Michael's condition because I can do that from my cell phone.

Prayer Warriors.....

How awesome it is to have friends praying with you when you or someone you know is going through hard times or difficulties.

But not only your personal friends but fellow believers you don't even personally know and even live across the United States. It has been such an encouragement to me and the McDaniel/Brown family to have this support coming from all over.

I want to personally say to all of you thanks for your willingness to pray! Prayer is how things change in our lives and I'm so thankful to have all these prayer warriors lifting up requests to our Savior.

God already knows how Michael will come out of this, but God also tells us to tell Him the desires of our heart and we shall have them Mark 11:24
So you know what I'm going to tell Him..

God I want Michael to stop the internal bleeding
God I want Michael's fever to break
God I want Michael's broken bones to heal
God I want Michael to be able to breathe without being on a ventilator
God I want Michael to come out of MUSC and serve you with all he has. Lord He accepted you as his Lord and Savior and I want him to be able to give you back what you've given him "life". I want him to have the opportunity to serve you, worship you, love you, witness for you and oh so much more.

God I want your will for Michael. I want you to get all the glory and honor through this incident. I want Michael and others to see your power in healing him and then see your power as he comes home to serve you.

More prayer Requests Update on Michael

It has been determined that Michael is bleeding internally and they now think that the fever is not coming from the pneumonia but from other infections somewhere in his body.

They are getting ready to do X-Rays on his stomach.
I will send further updates as I find out information.

I really do love all of you who are praying. I've received e-mails and comments from all over the US and this really means so much to know that others are uniting with us in these prayers.

New Prayer Requests for Michael

Michael has taken a turn for the worst, please pray, pray, and pray.
He has developed pneumonia with 105 degree fever and he also quit breathing twice today.
His family and Kelly have headed to Charleston to be with him.

Pray for all of him, for traveling mercy and pray for peace and comfort.
They need it so much right now!

I want God to get the glory through all that is going on through this. I also want Michael who gave his heart to Christ to be able to live with his family and serve and worship God in this new life he now has. Only God knows the answer to my request and I pray for His will.

God is SO GOOD!

I praise God for Michael's salvation.
I praise God for Nikki and Wyatt having few injuries during this wreck
I praise God for helping Michael through all his surgeries and helping him in his recovery
I praise God for Ashley being there for her sister
I praise God for Jim and Becky going to be with them this week and supporting their needs
I praise God for Matt's tender heart and being obedient to help Michael in his time of need for calling on you Lord as his Savior
I praise God for EVERYONE who has and will continue to lift prayers up for this family
I praise God for the many things God will teach all of us because of this incident
I praise God for the changes that will come in each of our lives because of this incident
I praise God for even when things are bleak we can still give you praise because you are in control.

I pray for the drunk driver that hit this family, that if he doesn't know you Lord that someone can reach him and he will accept you now since you have given him another opportunity. Lord he is just like all of us, he screwed up, but you still love him and want him to be saved.

I pray for Michael's continued recovery and that when he is much better he will begin a life of service to you like he has never known before and that all of this will totally change his family, that he will allow you to guide their life and all that you have planned for them.

I love you Lord and I thank you for all that you do for us every day from the smallest thing like a drink of water to the biggest thing like helping Michael to recover. You are mighty God and you control EVERY thing. I give you honor and praise Lord as you continue to show up and show us your power.

Prayer Request Update Part IV

OK more updates on Michael McDaniels and family;

Michael is improving a little bit. He had surgery on his legs today and so far so good.
If all goes well through the night he will have very serious pelvic surgery tomorrow 8/14

However his wife Nikki (Matt's sister) she is beginning to have complications from the wreck.
They found glass in her ears. Possibly her nose might be broken.

Everyone's prayers are so much appreciated and I'm so deeply moved by the outpouring of calls and e-mails checking on this family.

thanks everyone!!!

Prayer Request Update Part III

Michael is seeming to make improvements.
They found out today that he also broke his other leg, they have taken him out of the induced coma. They are suppose to do surgery on the one leg today and surgery on the pelvis tomorrow if he continues to stay stabilized.

Please continue to pray for improvements, I will keep everyone updated as I find out news.

Please pray for my daughter's fiance (Matt) his sister (Nikki) brother-in-law (Michael) and nephew Wyatt.

They were in a head-on collison tonite. Nikki and Wyatt are fine as far as known as this moment, however Michael has a broken pelvic bone and possibly will be flown to another hospital somewhere.

The last news I heard was around 10:30 p.m. As I receive news I will let all of you know.

My Daughter got Engaged today....

So hey everyone, yep my daughter Kelly got engaged today to the most wonderful guy Matthew Brown. Here is just one of the great pictures taken today at the special place that he asked her "her tree". You see this tree is very special to her. It was planted for her when she was born, so he made this day "at this place" even more special for her. We are very excited and honored to have him as our future son-in-law.

We love you Matt and Kelly and we'll be praying for you everyday up to the day of your wedding and everyday afterwards. We pray God's blessing on every moment of your life together!

Love you both, Mamma and Daddy

Are you Pretending to be something you aren't

**Here are some references to Sunday's sermon from Pastor Tom Tucker Calvary Baptist:

Every service at church we have empty pews, empty altars, dry eyes and no burden.
~~ Am I allowing God to peel me like an onion so the real Christian can stand up!

We are organized with our programs, church service, etc but are we agonized over souls being saved?

The question today is not church growth but church health? How well am I ? how well are you?

We have church members that are starched and ironed but they've never been washed in the blood! Have you been washed?

Do I want to live a wasted life? How many days in my life have brought honor & glory to God? Let's take our mask off and show who we really are!

Why can people confess things to a bartender, psychologist, counselor but can't give our confessions to Jesus the one who can do all for us!

If God is #1 in your life then you need to know there is a #2 trying to take over #1, also you need to know that God wants to be your Lord! not #1

Some of the reasons we pretend are because:
~we are drifting from the Word
~we doubt God's Word
~we are dull to God's Word

Let's Quit Pretending and Let's Be real!
Will the Real Christian Please stand up! and after you stand up then go on out and share God's Word with someone who is in need of it, who needs salvation, they are waiting on us, it won't come to them by itself. Let's help it to get there.

Here's a statistic of our church area (there are 83,000 people who live in a 5-mile radius) how many of them are we going to pretend with and how many of them are we going to reach for Jesus? you do the math!

My Kelly Mac is home....

What a great reunion we had at the airport.

----we arrived at the airport
----we waited at the airport what seemed like forever but it really wasn't it was just anticipation
----finally I saw her coming down the escalator, and joy filled my heart so much I felt like I would pass out
----what a hug
----ok by the time my hug, Daddy's hug and Kevins hug was over then of course Matt (a.k.a. Thing 1) took over our time is short lived now. ha-ha!
----she wanted to go to Cracker Barrel to eat
----she wanted a "shower"
----she made Matt and me some coffee from Serbia (ooh, strong coffee!)
----she and Matt went to Wal-Mart at 11:00 (she had to get stuff for her trip to debriefing tomorrow) can you believe only 1 night home and having to leave already.
----she probably won't sleep any tonite just because she wants to spend as much time with Matt as she can since he will be going back home tomorrow, but don't panic Kelly (he's coming back on Monday)

Well that kinda tells you how it went since she's been home.

Oh how great it feels to know that she is at home "in her room" - just sayin'
