Are you to young or old for God to use you?

The answer to the Title Question is "NO"

When the Holy Spirit is calling you to do something for Him and confirms it through several godly people in your life, you can be sure that He will give you what you need in order to do what He has called you to do. He gives us courage we need no matter what other people are thinking or saying.

God has made you and me for a purpose, for His purpose.
Don't feel like you have to wait until you are "smart enough" or have enough training to begin serving Him. All He needs is your "willingness" and with the gifts He has given you no one else could do what He wants you to do besides "you".

God has designed us to be an extension of His work in this sinful world.
So OK tell me what are you and me waiting for, let's get out there and serve and tell others the news about Jesus Christ, and maybe one of those people we tell have never heard about Him (Jesus, the One and Only!)

Also don't pick and choose who you share Jesus with, everyone needs to hear.
Take the news to the rich and the poor, good and bad, loving and unloving.
WOW the world needs us.......join me and let's give the world JESUS!

Jeremiah 1: 6-7
6 “O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!”
7 The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you.

Stress Busters Day 7....

This is the best way to bust all the stresses you have in your life. Ready to hear them?

Get up about 30 minutes to an hour early every morning.
Start your day with prayer and devotion.
Write in your journal what God shares with you so that you can look back to see where He brought you.

Fill your soul with God's Word each day then your sanity won't have a breakdown with the things that come about in your day....

This has been a great little book...now on to other GREAT books I'm currently reading (6) of them right now.. I will be sharing from those as God shares with me. See ya later.

Want to be a Martyr?

In my devotion I read this morning there is a 14 year old boy who accepted Christ as his Savior and now he wants to be a martyr. His mom not even knowing for sure if he even understood what a martyr is, she asked him and he replied to her "Someone who is willing to die for his faith", then he looked at his mom with tears I'm sure in his eyes and said that's what kind of faith I want mom.

It's not that he really wanted to die, but he finally found something in his life worth dying for, instead of all the stuff that faces teenagers today that are meaningless.

In this book here is a conclusion to this question:
The call is loud and clear - Jesus is worth living and dying for. Jesus is worth living life to the fullest. Jesus is worth dying to self-centered desires. Jesus is worth living as if every day could be our last. Jesus is worth dying to a life that is all about us.

Identify on a scale of one to ten your level of commitment to your faith, then in prayer, seek God's direction on how to increase your level.

Stress Busters Day 6

Mrs. Charles Cowman author of "Streams in the Desert" wrote this phrase,

"Two wings are necessary to lift our souls toward God: prayer and praise.
Prayer asks and praise accepts the answer."

This is why we should find the time to lift our concerns to God in prayer, and to praise Him for all that He has done.

When we do that we won't stay stressed for long.

Pray and Praise today and watch your stress melt away.......

Do you like to read?

How many books have you read?
How many books are you currently reading?
What kind of books do you like to read?

The best book in the world you will ever read is the "Bible". It is the most purchased book in the world.
It has mysteries, love stories, suspense and so many other things better than anything you are reading now. Talk about getting you excited that you don't want to go to sleep because you can't put it down, then this book is for you.

If you haven't explored this book yet, why not do so today and see the wonders that float out of the pages as you read.

Whew, everytime I open the pages I experience something new God has in store for me.
God has things waiting to tell and show you too, come on turn those pages and see what they are.

Give God an opportunity to speak to you......

No SNOW....

Love to look at snow and play it in, but stay off the road so people can get to work and earn their paycheck, also kids might like it now, but when it takes away from their springbreak or more days added at the end of the school year then we just hear them complain.

So I say "No Snow" please.....

What is submission......

Submission is:

  • Functional......a distinguishing of our roles and the work we are called to do.
  • Relational......a loving acknowledgement of anothers's value as a person.
  • Reciprocal.....a mutual, humble cooperation with one another.
  • Universal.......an acknowledgement by the church of the all-encompassing lordship of Jesus Christ.

Submission is voluntarily cooperating with someone, first out of love and respect for God and then out of love and respect for that person. Submitting to unbelievers is difficult, but it is a vital part of leading them to Jesus Christ. We are not called to submit to nonbelievers to the point that we compromise our relationship with God, but we must look for every opportunity to humbly serve in the power of God's Spirit.

Let's learn from Samuel....

Listen I what I learned from my Bible Study today (from Robert Morgan )

Samuel dealt with aggravating people and problems all the time while he traveled from place to place.
He would help settle disputes between people, and also teach God's Word.

Then, finally he announced he would retire and devote his final years to a quiet ministry of prayer and teaching.

You know what?
  • If Samuel ever had a midlife crisis he weathered it.
  • If Samuel ever doubted his calling, he didn't show it.
  • If Samuel ever faced discouraging days, he overcame them.
  • If Samuel ever wanted to quit, he rested in the Lord and then plunged right back into the work.

He served the Lord all the days of his life.

Think about yourself:

  • Are you going around in circles, dealing with aggravations, have a nervous breakdown.

Remember this:

God measures success by faithfulness and He bestows fresh layers of mercy as we serve Him day by day, all the days of our lives.

Let's start looking at our lives like Samuel. When we are down and out, stressed, worried, not knowing where we are going financially, etc. etc. etc. let's REST in Him and allow Him to put us where He wants us to be, let's meet Him there and watch Him and experience Him and how He changes us to be exactly what and where He wants us to be.

Update on Michael...Day 155...

Update from Jim Brown (Michael's father-in-law)

Michael came home 7 days before Christmas and this was great.
Becky, Nikki, a few friends and I all worked to move them into their new house which has worked out well.

Michael has settled into a routine of healing at home now.
He is happy and seems to be adjusting well.
The latest news from the physical therapists that come to their home is that his right leg may have to be re-broken via surgery in order for it to bend better.
Seems it maybe a small price to pay in order to use both legs.
His left leg is great.
He can shuffle his body from the wheel chair onto the couch or the bathroom facilities or even in and out of the car.
He has gone with Nikki a few times to church and visiting friends.
He is pretty self sufficient for the most part being Nikki had to return to work after the Holidays. His Grandma continues to come to the house to tend to him if needed.
We will still anticipate his intestines being put together and eliminate the colostomy bag he currently wears.
We are unsure of the time frame for all of that but we hold out hope for it.

We (Becky, Nikki and I) continue to work through the mountain of paperwork in order to gain insurance and liability along with social security and pain / suffering payments to all 3 of them.
It truly is astounding how much you have to do in order for our government to realize that he is actually disabled and worthy of being taken care of.
We will keep trying.

All in all, this young family is happy to be together despite the tough times ahead.

We did receive some bad news about the guy that hit them. Seems he has signed himself out of the hospital in North Carolina and has disappeared. Warrants are out for his arrest.

Reading the Bible....

Oh listen at the precious story I read today by Robert Morgan:

A precious ninety-one year old woman, who is a devoted Christian and Bible student is very alert and sports bright oversized glasses, her vision is now beginning to diminish.

But...

She uses a magnifying glass now to Study her Bible and listen at what she said, "I can only read one word at a time, so I put the glass on each word and study out that word before going on to the next, for it has taught me afresh that every single word in the Bible is precious"

Let us too read the Bible slowly and "treasure" every word; not one jot or tittle will fail.

Stress Busters Day 5....

Let God Handle Everything....that's today's stress buster lesson

God is our never ending source of support and courage.
When we are weary, he gives us strength
When we see no hope, God reminds us of his promises
When we grieve, God wipes away our tears.

When your life comes to nothing but inevitable challenges hand all of them over to God completely.

He knows your need and He will meet your needs in His way and in His time, if you will let Him.

Bill Hybels wrote: "Pour out your heart to God and tell Him how you feel. Be real, be honest, and when you get it all out, you'll start to feel the gradual covering of God's comforting presence. Enough said.

Psalm 121:1-2, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Stress Busters Day 4....

OK todays stress buster is teaching us about making sure our priorities are right.

We all know that we can't do "everything" so we have to make ourself priorites.
One question we can ask ourselves right now is when do we set our priorities, when we first get up in the morning, or as the day goes on?

If we fail to prioritize our day at all we must know it will happen with or without us or God being involved, life just happens like that.

We need to also ask ourselves if we are trying to organize our day by our own ideas and plans or by God's plans.

If we want to bust the stress in our life and have a day that will give us time to worship, time for our family, for our jobs, for exercise and some personal time left over just for us then we must turn over the priorities to God each morning and allow Him to help us and show us exactly what and where His plans are for us.

Our challenge each day is to use our time wisely in the service of God's work and according to His plans. The more we allow God to control everything the more stress we are busting every day!

Stress Busters Day 3....

Today's stress buster lesson is teaching us about the direction of our thoughts.
This book is very bold and to the point and really tells us where we should be and what we need to change. I hope the parts of them that I share with you are helping you in some ways like they are me. Here is what today's lesson shows us.

Our thoughts have the power to increase the amount of stress we experience in our lives--but our thoughts can also eliminate stress period.

When we focus our thoughts on things that honor and glorify God, or make our families happy and content we will find that we reap many rewards, but when we let our thoughts go awry and we get distracted from where we should be that's when stress and troubles start creeping in on us.

The lesson teaches us that negative thoughts are habit-forming but thankfully so are positive thoughts, and with practice we can form the habit of focusing on God's priorities and when we do we will discover that we will spend less time fretting about our challenges and more time praising God.

Here are two paragraphs from this day's lesson that speak loudly to us all if we will truly take it in then the stress can begin to peel away from us I'm sure.

"Watch what you think. If your inner voice is, in reality, your inner critic, you need to tone down the criticism now. And while you're at it, train yourself to begin thinking thoughts that are more rational, more accepting, and less judgmental".

"Remember that your life is an integral part of God's grand plan. So don't become unduly upset over the minor inconveniences, and don't worry too much about today's setbacks-they're temporary.

Psalm 139: 23-24, Search me O God and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

No matter where we go or what we do we can never be far from God's comforting presence.

What direction are your thoughts today and if the path of your thoughts are not where God wants it to be do you need to change your path? God is changing my path...thank you Lord...continue to take me where you want....continue to direct my thoughts.....I so look forward to where you will take me this year Lord...Bust these stresses and take me where you want Lord.
