Pleasant Words....
"Pleasant words are like an honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones".
These pleasant words are the words of the pure, they are evidence of the speakers salvation because they reveal a good heart. They show the reflexive action of pleasant words; they contribute to the spiritual and physical health of the speaker. On the other hand, evil words hurt the speaker more than the one against whom they are directed, for bitter words show a bitter heart and this poisons the whole person, body, mind and spirit. In ancient times honey was used as medicine as well as a pleasant food, and so also are words well spoken. Sometimes we must force ourselves to speak pleasantly when we would rather lash out with angry words, but it is always better to speak soft words, for we never have to repent of them, but we often do of bitter words.
As I begin seeking God's direction for my life in 2011, I want to surrender my words to Him and allow Him to be honored with my speech so this will allow me to reach others for Christ in this new year. I pray that I give and show "pleasant words" to all I come in contact with, and I look forward to how God will change me in this upcoming year me as I surrender to "His will".
Ready to begin again.....
So stay tuned.......

OK so here's your answer.
Genesis 24:47 (Scofield reference edition)
"And I asked her and said, whose daughter art thou? And she said, The daughter of Betheul, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bore unto him: and I put the ring in her nose and the bracelets on her wrists."

Three things...
1. Time
2. Words
3. Opportunity
Three things in life that can destroy a person:
1. Anger
2. Pride
3. Unforgiveness
Three things in life that you should never lose:
1. Hope
2. Peace
3. Honesty
Three things in life that are most valuable:
1. Love
2. Family & Friends
3. Kindness
Three things in life that are never certain:
1. Fortune
2. Success
3. Dreams
Three things in life that are truly constant:
1. Father
2. Son
3. Holy Spirit
**These "three things" were sent to me this week by a great friend. I pray God will use them to bless you as He did me when I received them. I also pray that if any of these "three things" need to be fixed in your life that you ask God to help you get them right.
God's love is always with you. God's promises are always true and when you give God your cares you know God will see you through.

Stopped praying....you kidding me...
I thought to myself how in the world could someone stop praying for others, or themselves?
We may not get the answers from God that "we" want, but the answers we get are exactly what we need.
Check out many verses in the Bible that I found just from thumbing through His Word and from verses I already knew that helps us to know for sure we can count on Him. People, these are not all the promises from His Word, but enough for you to know that "GOD HEARS AND ANSWERS PRAYERS"
1. I call on the Lord in my distress, and He answers me. Psalms 120:1
2. To the Lord I cry aloud, and He answers me from His holy hill. Psalms 3:4
3. I prayed to the Lord and He answered me, freeing me from all my fears. Psalms 34:4
4. I cried out to the Lord in my suffering, and he heard me, He set me free from all my fears. Psalms 34:6
5. The Lord hears His people when they call to Him for help, He rescues them from all their troubles. Psalms 34:17
6. I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and He turned to me and heard my cry. Psalms 40:1
7. God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Psalms 46:1
8. The Lord is faithful in all he says; he is gracious in all he does. Psalms 145:18
9. The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. Psalms 34:15
10. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me. Psalms 66:20
11. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:15-16
12. So we fasted and petioned our God about this, and He answered our prayer. Ezra 8:23
13. They were helped in fighting them, and God handed the Hagrites and all their allies over to them, because they cried out to Him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in Him. 1 Chronicles 5:20
14. He grants the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cries for help and rescues them. Psalms 145:19
OK so I could keep going with so many more, but I think I will just let you research in God's Word for yourself to "His answers" to "your prayers"
Don't ever give up on praying to God on behalf of others or yourself, He is waiting to hear your pleas. Psalms 102:17

The Little Old Man...
He may be a seasoned, soft, gracious fellow, a gentleman who has grown old gracefully, surrounded by hosts of friends, friends who call him blessed because of what his life has meant to them. Or he may be a bitter, disillusioned, dried-up old buzzard without a good word for anyone; soured, friendless, and alone....the kind of old man you will meet depends entirely on yourself, because that old man will be you.
He'll be the composite of everything you do, say, and think, today and tomorrow. His mind will be set in a mold you have made by your beliefs. His heart will be turning out what you've been putting into it. Every little thought, every deed goes into this old man.
He'll be exactly what you make of him. It's up to you. You'll have no one else to credit or to blame...Every day and in every way you are becoming more and more like yourself. Amazing, but it's true. You're becoming yourself more and more. Live only in the terms of what you're getting out of life, and the old man gets smaller, drier, harder, crabbier, more self-centered.
Open your life to others, think in terms of what you can give, your contribution to others, and the man grows larger, softer, kindlier, greater...The point to remember is that these things don't always show immediately. But they'll show up sooner than you think.
Those little things so unimportant now--beliefs, attitudes, ambitions---they're adding up inside where you can't see them, crystallizing your heart and your mind, and someday they'll harden into that old man. Nothing will be able to soften or change them...The time to take care of that old man is right now. Today. This week. Examine his values, his motives, his attitudes. Check up on him. Work him over while he's still plastic, still in a formative condition, because the day comes awfully soon when it's too late.
The hardness sets in worse than paralysis. Character crystallizes, sets and jells. That's the finish...Any wise businessman takes inventory regularly. But his merchandise isn't half as important as he is. Better take a bit of personal inventory. We all need it, and by keeping this check on ourselves, we'll be much more likely to meet a splendid old fellow at the proper time. The kind of fellow any of us would like to be.
"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap" Gal. 6:7
Oh God, fill us with your Spirit, and help us to keep on being filled in a moment-by-moment walk with you...Take us from this place and help us sow well, and become that old man and woman you want us to be, and all along the way reap a great harvest for your glory!

Experiencing God as He spoke....
The things He has shown us and brought to our minds has been amazing. He has spoken to us in many ways, through His Word, through our daily devotions, while sitting and listening to the ocean roll in, by watching others.
I'm thankful for what He has taught me the last few days, and the things He has laid on my heart that I need to change.
Thanks Lord for these days and for how You have spoken to me...go with me now as I obey your direction and path you have chosen for me this year.

If Jesus were in the middle of your mall sitting in a chair like Santa at Christmas and you could go up and ask Him only ONE question, what would your question be?

Looking for what God has in store....
My sister and I are on our yearly sister trip, where we seek God's face on where He would have us to be in the new year in our lives with Him, our relationship with our husband, family, church and what we need to change about our attitudes in general. We look forward to what God will be teaching us and what path He decides to take us in 2010.

Reaping the harvest...
Let me just give some praise to God for speaking to me tonite in my quiet place. (yep that's right Regina, my tub!)
All week this week I've had such a hard time concentrating on this specific subject God is trying to teach me, my mind kept wandering, and I could not stay focused but tonite WOW, God was right on time.
As I sat in that tub and prayed and cried out to Him to reveal His Word and show me what He wanted me to learn did He ever come through.
He showed me so many things about reaping the harvest that's out in this world, and how overwhelming that harvest really is.
Our goal is to share the Gospel with as many as we can.
The Gospel is for one as well as the many.
Jesus loves every precious soul, but they will never know that unless we are telling them.
There are many seeds that have been planted already by other believers, maybe you and I are the ones who are to reap that harvest and bring em' on home to God.
Whatcha waitin' for....get on out there and bring those sheep home.

Anyone know what a golden nugget is?
Some people have gotten so excited when they have found a little piece of this stuff. Their eyes start thing $$$$. How much can I get for this nugget.
Well let me share some of the best nuggets I know of that are greater in value than this little piece of native gold.
You ready, here it comes.......
Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21
Yep that's it, the best gold you will ever find. Nugget after nugget on every page. Not the kinds of nuggets that you can take to an appraiser and get money for, but nuggets that will last way longer than a piece of gold.
Why not do some digging in this gold mine of these books (The Holy Bible) and see the billions of nuggets waiting on you to find, and chisel through that will change you and your life.
Whew! everyday God gives me a new nugget and I like these nuggets much better than any gold nugget I wear on my finger or neck.
And just think you don't have to get dirty, get a hurt back from chiseling, or come up empty handed like many gold miners have done, because I promise you will get a bucket full of nuggets from every page.
Wanna be rich? you can be...just get to reading now...don't wait.
He's waiting on you inside His gold mine......

Esther...who is she? let's find out...
Without going into some fancy descriptions or commentaries about this book of the Bible, because it is so in-depth, here is a brief description of what it will teach us and help us learn:
"Esther, like the NT, teaches us how to live with courage and integrity, carrying out responsibilites to the best of one's ability and trusting God in His providence to protect and provide".
As we watched the introduction video to this study tonite I began to think about this particular statement. (As many years as I've been in church I've never heard a pastor preach a sermon from the book of Esther). hmmmm I wonder why?
I'm excited about delving into the story and life of Esther. I'm sure there will be many times that I will see the struggles she faced and how I will be able to relate the same or similar to the struggles I've faced in my life. Something I read on one of Beth Moore's website as a comment from a reader is that many women don't study this book because they are uncomfortable with the issues it will bring out in their life that they will have to be confronted with so they choose to just avoid it altogether.
But wouldn't that speak the same for the entire Bible, every page of God's Word will cause us to confront our true selves. How will we become better human beings if we don't seek His Word and learn from it.
I haven't even read but a half page of our homework assignment for this week and I'm already so pumped about what God is going to teach me and how He will change me through what I will learn in the next 9 weeks that I just feel like running around my house (outside in the cold).
Be in prayer as our ladies group seeks God through this study, and come on ladies let's get uncomfortable so He CAN teach us.

Keep asking.....
In Ephesians 1:17 it says this "I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better."
Check this out, Paul here is not saying that he prayed once for the Ephesian people, he kept asking, this means he was in a state of constant prayer for them.
I know that many times and many things in my life I have prayed over and over to the point where I've even thought that God is tired of hearing me pray that prayer again, but this verse is a reminder to me that He wants me to keep asking him. You know maybe He wants to even see how committed I really am to the thing I'm asking about. Sometimes we all ask God for something and because we don't see immediate results we don't ask again. Well I tell you what I want Him to know I'm committed, I want to keep asking and keep learning and keep letting Him reveal to my heart, His desires and His plan for me, but unless I ask how can I know.
All wisdom of His word and clarity of circumstances come from God, so how can we receive this wisdom and revelation unless we are talking to Him and asking Him the things that are on our heart.
These two words to me also reflect determination. We don't need to give up asking God for answers, for clarification, for healing, or many other issues in our life "until" He answers us. When He answers, accept the answer and thank Him for it, but until He answers, "ask", He wants to hear our heart.
At the latter part of this verse it says "so that you may know him better". Well how will that ever happen, if we aren't asking. We should ask and keep asking for that one purpose "to know him better". I want to truly KNOW God, not just the facts, dates, historical data about Him, but to know Him in the most deepest way that my heart can hold. The type of person God wants me to be will only happen by me seeking to know Him, and to seek Him I must "keep asking" Him.
The more I "ask" the more I'm gonna learn.
What about you? are you ready to do some asking?

What does the "S" stand for on your chest?
Well I started thinking about that for a few minutes during the sermon this morning. We all have a name or a word stamped on us too, but some of us don't have the same name or word as others if we don't know Christ Jesus as our Savior.
Here are some of the names we can have:
- Saved
- Sanctified
- Saint
- Sealed
- Salt
- Spirit filled
- Steward
- Servant
- Set Apart
- Sheep
- Sower
If your "S" doesn't name you as saved, as one of God's children and you want to be, here's all you have to do to get that name written on your life.
Say this prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins and for raising from the dead. I ask you to forgive me for my sins, I open the door of my life and receive you as my Savior and Lord and give me eternal life with you. Take control of my life and make me the kind of person you want me to be. Amen.
OK now that you have your new name do as the Bible says, be obedient, get baptized (this serves as a testimony of your faith), then find a Bible believing church and begin serving the one who gave you this new name, read God's word and begin getting to KNOW who God is, spend time each day with God in prayer, be a witness to others (let them see the new you, or the "S" on your chest).
OK, let me ask you today, what does the "S" on your chest stand for?

Prayer....do you believe in it?
Immediately I thought to myself how in the world could you say that? He always answers everything just maybe not the way WE want or when WE want!
Psalms 4:3 says this: "You can be sure of this, the Lord has set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call to him."
My study Bible say these things:
The godly are those who are faithful and devoted to God. David knew that God would hear him when he called and would answer him.
We can also be that confident that God does listen to our prayers and answers them when we call on Him. If we have trusted Christ as our Savior, he has forgiven us and He hears our burdens, our requests, although His answers are not always what our expectations are.
We need to look at our problems in the light of God's power instead of looking at God in the shadow of our problems.
Here are some things I've prayed about over the past few months/years that God answered:
1. My sister was told she had cancer spots in her mouth by her dentist and needed to see a specialist, we started praying for her, when she went for her appointment with the specialist guess what no spots were there.
2. In August of 2008 Michael McDaniel and his family were in a head-on-collision and it was thought by the doctors initially that he may not walk again....after much prayer and months of surgeries and therapy well guess what "He is walking"
3. Many years of praying for my two children to find the partner that God selected for them, well one of them has found "that one". I'm still praying for the other one, its not time yet as he is still in high school.
These are only three of the prayers I've been praying for that God answered. No He did not answer exactly the way I wanted or when I wanted. I didn't give Him specifics, just spoke from my heart what was "needed" and He did everything IN HIS TIME and HIS WAY.
An old adage my granddaddy taught me when I was a little girl. He said Beverly God will answer you in one of three ways.
1. Yes
2. No
3. or wait a while
#2 and #3 are the hardest, but don't ever think He won't answer, because He WILL and when He does be sure to praise Him even if the answer is no, you may see later in your life the reason why and then praise Him even more that He answered no.
Prayer...do you believe in it? I DO........

Well its 2010...
I have learned so much in 2009. Many things I don't want to repeat in 2010. Many things I want to continue learning in 2010.
As each day passes this year, I want to share with each of you who have read this blog site what I'm learning and how I'm growing in the Lord, along with special prayer requests or just miscellaneous information, so please stay tuned as God teaches me, leads me and allows me to write and share those special moments and times.
I will be praying for all who read here that God will use something that I share to reach your heart and soul....
